Oil muted post hitting gains, eyes are on potential ceasefire in Gaza

Oil ticked up on Tuesday as investors are anticipating the effect of the US diplomat Antony’s Blinked visit to the Middle East to explore on whether it will contribute in pausing the war between Israel and Gaza, it has sparked worries about the key producing region's supply.

Brent crude futures ticked up by 17 cents to $78.16 per barrel, while US WTI advanced by 16 cents to $72.94 per barrel.

The two contracts advanced by 1% on Monday, climbing for the first time in nearly four sessions.

The cease-fire proposal was given to Hamas the earlier week by mediators from Qatar and Egypt, is awaiting a response from militants who claim they need additional assurances that the four-month-old conflict will cease.

Worries regarding demand projections capped gains of oil prices.

Analysts stated that projections of "higher for longer" in the US and would probably restrict demand in addition to signals that China's economy is still in the negative territory.
